Rotterdam-based scale-up seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer, with a product-focused
attitude, to join our team and take technical ownership of the award-winning ChatLicense app
with a Dutch/Belgian-going-on-global user base.

Responsibilities in the role:

  • Build and manage a growing in-house tech team (currently consisting of an AI
    engineer and a data analyst), fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Work with leadership (Fractional CTO, Product Manager and CEO) to align
    technology with goals. Govern architecture, technology choices, guard standards.
  • Be hands-on with code and daily app operation (App Store Connect & Google Play
    Console) with knowledge of React Native, headless CMS platform Strapi, subscription
    management program RevenueCat, performance tracker Sentry and authentication
    and authorization strategies such as OAuth2, JWT, Supertokens or CM.com.
  • Architect and maintain scalable backend microservices using Node.js.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ETL pipelines, BI tools, or LLMs.
  • Quality control, metrics and app health management, with scale in mind.
  • Maintain code quality through static code analysis tools, strong Git practices and
    code reviews on GitHub.
  • Monitor and analyse user experience for insights and data-driven decisions.
  • Operate under ISO standards, security by design & state of the art security principles.
    Implement robust security practices to protect user data & maintain platform integrity.

Profile:

  • Experience designing, building, and evolving consumer facing applications: strong
    proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience in / knowledge of AI and machine learning in educational technology
    (personalized learning, content recommendation, behaviour analysis).
  • Data driven, user focused & organised individual, with ambition make global impact
  • Strong knowledge of software development, mobile app architecture, database
    design and API integration with core system backends.
  • Experience making build vs buy decisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Thrives in a diverse team of impact makers, startup mentality.
