ChatLicense and Telenet are extending their partnership, continuing to support parents with their children’s digital start in 2026. Customers with a Telenet Mobile Junior subscription receive free access to ChatLicense: an interactive app for smart and conscious digital skills and safe online behavior.
Children take their first baby steps online through various personal devices, such as tablets, startphones or laptops. ChatLicense offers guidance for when children go online independently and helps them gain step-by-step insight into digital choices, social interaction and online communication.
Learning to navigate the digital world
ChatLicense was developed to teach digital skills at the right time, in a manner that is accessible and positive. Through an interactive game, children work towards their ‘digital driver’s license‘, learning to deal with themes such as peer pressure, privacy, screen time and online contact. Parents receive practical support to start the conversation at home and to make concrete agreements with each other. ChatLicense has been working together with Mediawijs.be for optimal localization of the app for the Belgian market.
The content of ChatLicense is continuously updated based on the latest trends, research and developments for parents to always align with the digital world of families.
Shared ambition
The extended partnership with Telenet is rooted in a shared vision on digital wellbeing. “We want to support families in establishing a healthy relationship with technology in day-to-day life,” says Dieter Nieuwdorp, Chief Commercial Officer at Telenet Group. “With ChatLicense, we offer parents and children a shared foundation to think about online behavior and digital choices together.”
“Digital parenting is not only about proclaiming what not to do, but also about explaining how it can be done together, because the digital world is part of life,” says Marjolein van Tilburg, founder of ChatLicense. “Together as a society we make a better digital world; from legislation to app makers, suppliers and education. We are therefore very pleased that Telenet is taking up this responsibility in Belgium and that, in this way, we reach many families together.”
